Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is the second-largest city in Brazil, located on the South Atlantic coast. The city is famous for its breathtaking landscape, and its relaxed beach culture.
Its harbour is comprised of a unique ocean entry that makes it appear like the mouth of a river. Additionally, the harbor is surrounded by spectacular geographic features including Sugar Loaf mountain, Corcovado Peak and the hills of Tijuca. Together, these features create a remarkable setting, making this harbor one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Tourist spot
Morro Dois Irmãos

A rock formation in the Vidigal neighbourhood. Its peak, rising about 533 meters above sea level, stands higher than Pão de Açúcar (395 m) but lower than Corcovado (704 m). It can be reached via a 1.5 km-long trail.
In the same park, there is a sculpture signed by Oscar Niemeyer and a memorial dedicated by Air France in honour of the victims of Flight AF-447.
The hill attracts tourists who wish to follow the trail that leads to its peak.
The access to the trail is located near the Vidigal Football Field and the Vila Olímpica Amphitheatre, and the journey to the top takes about 50 minutes. Most importantly, from the peak, visitors can see the full extent of the beaches of Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Gávea, Christ the Redeemer, the Rocinha community and the neighbourhood of São Conrado.

Feijoada

Feijoada is a traditional Brazilian stew made primarily with black beans and a variety of pork cuts, such as sausages, ribs, and smoked or salted meats. To prepare it, the beans are slowly cooked with the meats, onions, garlic, and bay leaves until the flavors meld into a rich, savory broth.
Feijoada common seasonings include olive oil, salt, and black pepper. However, some versions may add orange peel or chili for extra flavor.
Feijoada is considered Brazil’s national dish and is loved by Brazilians across the country.

Charming and humble

There are many cultures and subcultures within Rio, which can be divided by South Zone, North Zone, Suburbs, Favela, and more. One common cultural tendency of brazilians which include Cariocas (people from Rio) is to see the time in a flexible concept. So, you may seldom see appointments being delayed for different reasons. Cariocas tend to be warm, sociable and laid-back, many having a beach-centered lifestyle.

Bossa nova
Emerging in the late 1950s in Rio, bossa nova is a unique music genre that blends samba rhythms with jazz harmonies and a smooth, intimate vocal style. In addition, its gentle and relaxed style, with poetic lyrics related to love, everyday life and sometimes nature, create unique characteristics to this genre.
Bossa nova gained international fame through artists like João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, and Vinicius de Moraes, especially with songs such as Garota de Ipanema (The Girl from Ipanema), which became one of the most recorded songs in history.
